The Ultimate Travel Guide To Las Vegas, Nevada
How much money do I need for a trip to Vegas?
The amount of money you need for a trip to Vegas will depend on what you plan on doing. Overall the average amount of money that most people say is suitable to bring for a trip to Vegas is around $255 per day. This includes prices for dining out, public transportation, and other options that the average Vegas tourist spends.
Is it better to stay on the Strip or downtown Las Vegas?
I prefer to stay on the strip or old LV which is Freemont Street. I’m fine staying on the side of the strip closest to the airport but I also like dead center around the Cosmo or Polo Towers. You can make your decision up about where to stay in Vegas depending on what you’re going to do and what your budget will allow. Below is a list of some of the best places to stay in Las Vegas during your vacation:
Each of the above hotels to stay in Las Vegas will offer a variety of options to choose from. The first few are considered more of a luxury hotel, then some boutique hotels, and lastly some cheap hotels in Las Vegas.
Make sure to checkout Suiteness too if you’re going with a group of people!

You should make a list of your budget for Las Vegas accommodations, and then create a list of amenities that you can’t live without. From there you can opt in to stay at one of the places to stay in Las Vegas I shared above for your Vegas vacation.
Where you must eat in Vegas
There are so many places to eat in Vegas. Where you plan to eat during your Las Vegas vacation will depend on your food preferences and restaurant budget. Below you’ll find a list of some of the places you must eat in Vegas:
Gordon Ramsay Hell’s Kitchen
The Magic Noodle
Master Kim’s Korean BBQ
Momofuku Las Vegas
Yardbird Southern Table & Bar
Le Cirque
Edge Steakhouse
VegeNation
Each of the above places to eat in Vegas will give you a nice variety of prices and food options to enjoy. The key to eating in Vegas is to research the restaurants before you leave on your Las Vegas vacation. This will allow you to create a reasonable food budget for your vacation in Vegas.
Things to Do in Vegas
If you need to know who’s in town and where then I recommend checking out the Spy on Vegas site where you can get day-by-day updates of what events are happening! For example, Nelly, Fat Joe, TIP will be at Drai’s, R. Kelly at The Joint, DJ Ruckus at Marquee, Lil Jon at Jewel, etc. If you’re planning on going with a group of girls to any of these clubs you know a promoter is a must! Leave the promoters on the street with the nudie card handouts and get on the guestlist by checking out the Ultra Las Vegas. If he’s still playing, seeing Anthony Cools at the Paris Hotel is a MUST. And volunteer to get on stage, or have someone you’re with do it, trust me.
In addition, here are some of my favorite things to do in Las Vegas:
Grand Canyon and Hoover Damn
You can combine a trip to the Grand Canyon and Hoover Damn in one tour. While the cost is around $85 for a Hoover Damn tour, the sight is simply too good to pass up while you’re vacationing in Las Vegas.
Check out the wall murals
Vegas is a mecca for wall art, and one of my favorite things to do while in the city is discovering new murals. Check out this post for my full list of the best wall murals in Las Vegas.
See Some Sharks
If you’re into aquarium life then you’ll want to go to the Shark Reef Aquarium where you can see real-life sharks up close and personal. The price is around $25 per person to get in.
Neon Museum
If you’re looking for a really Instagrammable place in Las Vegas, The Neon Museum is your best friend! Aside from shooting baller images, you get to learn a ton about the history of where the neon signs came from which is pretty cool. See more photos of the Neon Museum here.
Stratosphere
This is the tallest free-standing tower in the United States and it’s right here in Las Vegas. You can venture up to see amazing views. The entry fee is $29 which includes one ride. If you’re brave you can take a ride on X-Scream where you get propelled headfirst about 27 feet over the edge of the Stratosphere.
Pinball Hall of Fame
Check out the Pinball Hall of Fame during your Las Vegas vacation to get thrown back into your childhood days. This museum features many vintage-style arcade machines, and over 150 classic games to play during your Las Vegas vacation.
If you’re visiting Vegas in October I highly recommend checking out The Rise Festival in the Mojave Desert!
There are many more things to see and do in Las Vegas, but my ultimate travel guide to Las Vegas should help you find a place to sleep, eat and play during your next Vegas vacation.
