So after watching way too much HGTV you know we decided to buy a flip house! And it’s been such an exciting project to see the house come to life! The before and afters are especially amazing! When I redid my own kitchen I used Floor & Decor so I knew that’s who I wanted to work with on this house! I’m so lucky they decided to sponsor my reno because it’s been a pretty hefty project redoing the kitchen, guest bathroom, and the master bath!

Before

I mean just check out this before image of the master bathroom! The master bath was stuck in the 70s with old wallpaper, a claw foot tub with horrible plumbing, an old vanity, popcorn ceiling, and awful orange floor tiles. It’s amazing what new tile can do for a space and how it totally updates the bathroom. Tile is a very minimal change and with the incredible Floor & Decor pricing, it doesn’t have to break the bank. Floor & Decor has top quality products at rock bottom prices, a wide variety of in-stock product (a very very important point when renovating a space – shipping delays will kill a project), plus free design services!

Picking Out Tile + The Process

I measured the square footage of each space then headed to Floor & Decor to pick out tile! My mom and I had so much fun at Floor and Decor picking out tile samples and designing each bathroom at their design station. I wish I had more spaces to tile because it was so hard to decide on just one! I wanted the floors to make a statement and I wanted the tile to be cohesive throughout the house. They’re small spaces so a bold design is what I was craving. I choose the florentia grey contemporary ceramic tile that is 16×16. I always wanted a stone floor shower so that’s what I choose, a flat black honed pebblestone mosaic! Then, because it’s so in and I’m still so obsessed, I decided to go with the classic white subway tiles. I’ll tell you there are so so many subway tile options besides the basic 3×6 so feel free to go crazy and get creative! I was on a budget because it’s a flip house but I still wanted the space to look fresh and new. After I picked out my tile I used the Floor & Decor free design services to help calculate the costs. Thanks to Floor & Decor prices, I was able to get new tile for the kitchen, guest bath, and master bath for under $700! What a steal! They even have same day in store pick up!

My favorite tile options

Backsplash options are on the left and flooring options are on the right. Now you can see why this was such a hard choice! These are just a few of my favorites! Of course, the marble and textured tile is a must! I also really loved the glass subway tile in aqua and gray! I’ve always wanted to have a pebble tile shower insert so of course, that’s what I picked out. I became obsessed with the Bali Nights porcelain tile (bottom right) but it didn’t fit with my farmhouse remodel. But you can bet as soon as I get another house, I’ll be putting that in! Textured tile is amazing y’all! So now you see all the options I got to play with and my favorites. Pick out what you would mix and match for flooring and the backsplash in your dream bathroom!

Top 3

tile and flooring options I put together these 3 options as my final choice! Which one would you pick? I’m such a fan of bold flooring and the cement look but it was such a hard choice! I choose the top option for our new master bathroom because we’re going for a farmhouse feel. I wanted bold floors but I thought the black and white might be too much of a contrast. Plus the entire house was painted agreeable gray so I thought the gray in the 16×16 Florentina Gray Ceramic Tile would blend in seamlessly while still making a statement. These tiles looked a bit green in store so make sure to check the website or take a sample tile home to see how it looks in your lighting. This tile looked amazing in our bathrooms and I can’t wait to share the final look and the before and after with you!

Reno Work

I’m pretty proud that I had a big hand in this renovation. I even helped get up the old tile and take down the wallpaper. It definitely saves money to have a hand in the demo. And after all, demo day is my favorite day! There’s nothing better than using a sledgehammer to rip through walls! But more on that later. After we stripped the bathroom down I handed it off to my contractors to lay the new tile since I had to head out on a trip and because I’m pregnant now! They did such a great job!

Work In Progress
