Why Eating at Restaurant Château Eza is a Must!
Château Eza hotel offers a Michelin star gourmet restaurant serving à la carte French and Mediterranean cuisine against the stunning backdrop of the French Riviera. What it was like to eat at Chateau de Eza Restaurant
The experience itself was amazing! After a 10 minute walk up the cliff in Eze you reach the restaurant. It’s definitely worth the walk because the views are amazing. It almost feels like you’re sitting on top of the ocean. In the spring the floor to ceiling windows open for a totally panoramic cliff dining experience at its finest!
As soon as you sit down you’re greeted by the most experienced staff. I was so impressed by them. It felt like the food never stopped coming. First we were offered champagne to start paired with goat cheese, caviar, and baked parm on a stick. Delicious. Then we were brought the most delicate pressé of foie gras and smoked eel, porto jelly with hibiscus flower.
Our next course was a grilled large claire refined oyster with pot herbs coulis, multicolored roots and Ossetia Caviar and it was très bien!
Instead of dropping off a bread basket you’re offered a choice of bread in between each corse. We had the option of a French baguette, olive bread, or parmesan crusted bread.
For an entree we could choose from sea bass, stone-fried scallops, pigeon, or hare. I choose the sea bass cooked skin side down, with artichokes stuffed with morteau sausage, broccoli mousse and chervil root which was amazing! Seriously the best meal I’ve ever had in my life. My husband had the stone-fried scallops which were also so good!
For dessert we were given an alliance of passion fruit, pineapple and mango, tahitian vanilla, tonic sweetness and we shared the crispy caramel with hazelnuts and dulcey chocolate, caramel & salted butter ice-cream. Très bien!
The food is incredible and the views are even better. If you don’t want to swing having a full meal because of the price, head to the bar for a drink just to experience the atmosphere and outstanding views! It’s definitely a once in a lifetime experience!
