Visiting Paris is such a lovely experience and the things to do in Paris are endless. Whether you’re traveling to Paris solo, with a group of friends, or a partner, here are some of the can’t miss attractions and sights in Paris!

Things to do in Paris

Eiffel Tower

Without a doubt this is a must sight to see while in Paris. The Eiffel Tower is one of the most beautiful sights in the city, and it’s even more gorgeous at night, so make sure you check it out when it gets dark, too! Bonus points if you go to the top for the best views of the city!

The Louvre

Even if you’re not one for art, visiting The Louvre is a must on any itinerary. While you could take days to see everything, within a few hours you will experience all of the major highlights like the Mona Lisa. The earlier you get there, the better, as you’ll get to avoid crowds. We also recommend taking the metro to the museum, as the station itself features a ton of artwork!

Arc de Triomphe

You’ll get the best views while sitting on top of the emblematic Arc de Triomphe. It’s a must thing to do when you’re in the area traveling and enjoying the gorgeous sights of Paris. Access is included with the Paris Museum Pass, but you can buy tickets as a standalone activity.

Ile de la Cite & Notre Dame

Enjoy the historical part of Paris when you visit the Ile de la Cite. This island is situated in the center of the city, and no it’s not an island in the water, it’s the middle of downtown historic Paris.

Currently, Notre Dame is closed for reparations, but you can still take in the beauty of its exterior when you visit Ile de la Cite as well as enjoy some of the best views of the Seine River.

Sainte Chapelle

There are many beautiful cathedrals to visit, but the Sainte Chapelle is by far one of the most beautiful architectural gems to visit in Paris. You’ll find one of the world’s best stained glass displays in this cathedral, which is a must-see!

Versailles

While this is slightly out of the city of Paris, I had to include it on my list of things to do in the city of romance. The Versailles was the seat of the government for a little more than 100 years and its historical value and beautiful architecture are sure to please.

And that’s our list! These are the major highlights, but there are also so many incredible things to do in Paris that you can’t miss, like strolling through the streets of Montmartre or just sitting at an outdoor coffee shop to people watch. Use this list of Paris activities to plan a day full of fun and adventure in this beautiful city, but don’t forget that Paris is also too much fun to just explore without a guide in hand!
