Loretta Lynn first arrived in Nashville 55 years ago and signed her first recording contract in February of 1960. As a self-taught songwriter and guitarist, Lynn shot to stardom and shook things up by writing based on her own life experiences. Staying At Loretta Lynn’s Ranch
If you want to stay at the Ranch you’ve got 2 options, camping or cabins.
There are 3 different camping and cabin areas at Loretta Lynn’s Ranch including, Stagecoach Hill, Boone Hill, and Lower Campground.
Stagecoach Hill is the premier campground at the Ranch, and here you will find 55 full-service 50 amp pull-through spots. Stagecoach Hill also has 4 a-frame log cabins, 7 cozy log cabins, and a large bunkhouse that can accommodate large family gatherings. There are common areas for live music, fire pits, horseshoes, and cornhole. It’s fun for the whole family!
Boone Hill is the most accessible campground at the Ranch because it sits directly off the highway. There are 6 cabins at Boone Hill in a horseshoe shape making this a great place for a little seclusion. You can also take a walk on the trails behind this campground and enjoy the beauty of Tennessee and the outdoor BBQ pits.
Lower Campground If you’re looking for all the activities then you need to stay at the Lower Campground. Primed for fun, there is a 10,000 sq ft pavilion, inground pool, and playground. Not to mention, 30 amp water/electric camping spots, a bathhouse, and Hurricane Creek. Rent tubes and kayaks to experience Hurricane Creek to the fullest. Loretta Lynn’s Ranch uses this as the main attraction area.

Loretta Lynn’s Ranch Tour Options
The first tour option at the Ranch includes the plantation house and the museum. Both of these attractions will give you a deeper appreciation for the music of Loretta Lynn.
The second tour option is for Loretta superfans, the guided tours take you to a replica of Loretta’s childhood home, the Butch Holler House. Then you will meander your way around her plantation home featured in the movie Coal Miner’s Daughter.

Walk Through The Western Town
The Western Town is where you will find all of the museums at Loretta Lynn’s Ranch. The property itself is also historical and has many notable landmarks dating back to the late 1800s. The Grist Mill is a great example as it was established in 1876 and was one of the first hydroelectric plants in the state of Tennessee. Now it is repurposed into a museum and there are several more museums at the Ranch including:
Grist Mill Museum
Loretta’s Grist Mill Museum hosts a variety of equipment used during the production of cornmeal in the late 1800s. Here you will see the original generator and control panel of Loretta’s historic home. Don’t skip the Grist Mill Gift Shop where you’ll discover a selection of country food items, locally made crafts, and Kentucky coal souvenirs.
The Butch Holler House
This replica home is built exactly like Loretta Lynn’s East Kentucky home where she grew up.
Loretta’s Frontier Homestead
Step back in time and visit the newly added Frontier Homestead. These original log cabins are completely furnished and include main living quarters, kitchens, and tool rooms. Here you can explore over 400 artifacts including tools, saws, cookware and utensils, clothing, wagons, and so much more.
Coal Miner’s Daughter Museum
You’ve heard Loretta Lynn’s rags to riches story, but this museum takes you to a deeper level of the story. This 18,000 sq ft complex tells the story of Lynn’s long and vast life and country music career. You will experience Loretta’s life through her eyes, and what a life it has been!
Doll And Fan Museum
Located inside the Grist Mill you’ll find a vast collection of dolls and gifts given to Loretta Lynn by fans over the course of her 6-decade music career. This attraction is always free and was built specifically for the fans.

As you can imagine this place has anything and everything Loretta Lynn. You can purchase everything from posters, books, and mugs to vinyl records and novelty items.
