Staying at Hutchinson Shores Resort and Spa in Jensen Beach, Florida

hutchinson resort and spa travel blogger Florida   I found a great new getaway in Florida and living in Atlanta, I’m kind of shocked that I’ve never been to Jensen Beach before. I stayed at this amazing newly renovated hotel in Hutchinson Shores that’s right on the beach!

Hutchinson Shores is located 55 minutes north of Palm Beach International Airport with non-stop flights to more than 100 cities. Tucked between the quaint cities of Stuart and Port St. Lucie on Florida’s beautiful Treasure Coast, Hutchinson Island offers miles of sandy beaches. The newest resort on Florida’s Treasure Coast – Hutchinson Shores Resort & Spa is a “AAA Four-Diamond property,” the coastal inspired respite offers 178 guest rooms reflecting oceans color spectrum of blues, greens and pearl. The design and decor throughout the resort is a dreamy blend of beachside retreat and nautical luxury. Providing comfort that beckon guests to linger longer, Hutchinson Shores Resort & Spa is the newest iconic gem in Florida on the Treasure Coast. With its new signature Spa, two pools and cabanas, Drift Restaurant + Bar, Reflections Pool Bar and Dune Beach Bar, the resort boasts 8,000 sq. ft. of meeting and event space with endless beachside activities. hutchinson resort and spa travel blogger Florida

Rooms + Hotel

I walked in the Hutchinson Shores Resort and Spa and immediately noticed the sky high ceilings and matching floor to ceiling greenery wall. It was stunning. There is a cute shop downstairs as well as a sand sculpture at the entry that welcomes you!  The 178 guestrooms are well appointed with modern amenities and shoreline inspired décor. The new Hutchinson Resort is the epitome of coastal living with white ship lap, navy stripes and anchor accents, that complimented the calming coastal palette and decor.

You will have three choices of views: Resort, Oceanside and Pool. Each room option beckons relaxation with crisp linens with pops of rich stripped textiles, large overhead and decadently tiled showers, granite countertops and private balconies ensuring the best accommodations on the Treasure Coast. Joanna Gains from Fixer Upper would have loved this place!  hutchinson resort and spa travel blogger Florida I couldn’t wait to check in!  The first thing I did was check into my room and rinse away the travel. The rain head shower was s0 refreshing and relaxing. The towels were extremely plush, they soaked up every ounce of water I wrung out of my hair. I wrapped myself up in the XL towel and headed for the robe! Score! Not only do they have two in your room, they are soft and luxurious! I could have stayed cuddled up in it all day. Just what I needed. Happy I got to take one home with  me! hutchinson resort and spa travel blogger Florida I felt the rooms were spacious. I was on the 5th floor with the most amazing view of the ocean. So close you could hear the waves crashing. The bed was positioned next to the double sliding glass doors with outlets close by on all sides, a desk, TV, seating area, and a mini fridge with a kitchenette area. Seriously so much space! The bathroom had great counter space as well as a sliding door that had the cutest round ship window, a port hole I think you call it. There was counter space everywhere you looked throughout the room and bathroom. It’s the little things that make me happy guys! One thing I thought was new and innovative was their use of the common “ice machine room.”  The Hutchinson Resort turned it into a pantry which had pre-packed ice bags, bottles of water, and snacks sitting out so you could go in at your leisure and take whatever you needed. It was like having a private concierge on each floor. Staying hydrated while traveling is key so I really appreciated the access to water 24/7. The best part was that it was complimentary! hutchinson resort and spa travel blogger Florida

Food + Drink

Drift Kitchen + Bar is the restaurant on the property. It presents an intimate and comforting al fresco dining environment overlooking the Atlantic Ocean with seating for 200. Inspired by a cultivation of culinary experiences, Drift Kitchen + Bar combines contemporary American Bistro with fresh local seafood selections. Hand selected wine lists and carefully curated craft beer and cocktails with fresh caught seafood, prime cuts, delicious salads and house-made pastas.  hutchinson resort and spa travel blogger Florida Drift Lounge + Chef Bar offers craft cocktails made with fresh syrups and herbs, both created and grown on resort grounds. Fresh ingredients and quality spirits are the cornerstone of the cocktail program. Premium craft beers and select wine and bubbles are offered and accompanied by a menu of fresh raw bar offerings, curated charcuterie and artisanal cheese boards, all showcasing locally sourced produce. I think I had everything on the menu. The first night I had the tuna poke, burrata caprese, with a smores pot for desert and it was delicious! The next day for lunch by the pool I had the fish tacos and a frozen margarita! These were probably some of the best fish tacos I’ve ever eaten! I can’t get over how amazing they were! For dinner at the resort we went through loads of red wine which just spoke to me. The bread should not go without mentioning because they bring out some next level bread with some next level butter. I’ll leave it as a surprise but let me say, it’s a must! Break your diet. It’s so worth it! That night, we dined on the fungi pizza as an app and I had the day boat scallops for dinner. They are pan seared with sweet shrimp & charred corn risotto, roasted pepper, sweet peas, in a key lime butter sauce and oh my gosh were they delectable.

The restaurant on the property was simply amazing. They also offer a take away service in place of room service but I would highly recommend eating at the restaurant instead. First, it’s decorated in luxurious coastal decor and the atmosphere is next level. Different sections throughout the restaurant make you feel like you’re in a completely different room so it’s not too loud or too crowded. There are even tables set up outside if you would rather enjoy the weather or sit by the pool. There are also three bars on the property. Two outdoor bars make it convenient and easy to grab a couple cocktails by the pool. One inside the restaurant where you can grab a beer, watch a game, watch the pizzas as they’re put into the wood fire grill, check out the handmade pasta, or be mesmerized by the ocean views. hutchinson resort and spa travel blogger Florida

Pools + Beach

The hotel has two pools.  Reflections Pool, the largest pool, offers a sun-drenched pool deck that is perfect to get some sun and layout as it’s rarely shaded. The pool has little surrounding fountains, a hot tub, cabanas, lounging areas, and fire pits. The second pool is The Dune Pool which is a secluded beachside adult heated pool and jacuzzi, centrally located off the lobby overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. They both have an outdoor bar just steps away so you can grab a frozen cocktail quickly and hop back in the pool! hutchinson resort and spa travel blogger Florida The beach is amazing! There is so much beach front it almost seems private. They have lounge chairs for your to relax on as well as umbrellas for the much needed shade. I am also very impressed by the amount of beach activities they offer! I went out on a kayak and a paddle board and dolphins literally swam right up next to me! Beach Activities

  • Snorkeling

  • Surfing
  • Sea turtle walks on the beach
