Birthday Cocktails
With my birthday this week I thought it was only fitting to feature some simple and delish cocktail recipes that I made to celebrate.
Feeling 22 (the necessary nod to the Taylor Swift anthem that will define the next 12 months): It’s kind of like a mojito/fruit punch combo with the party starter tequila joining in!
– 1 shot white tequila (or vodka if that’s your poison!)
– ½ shot triple sec
– ½ shot peach schnapps
– 1 tbsp fresh lemon/lime juice
– 2 strawberries, chopped
– Mint (optional)
– Soda water
I love the fruity freshness of this one! I started with muddling the strawberries and mint in the glass with a fork to release the flavours. Then add the alcohols, juices and top with soda water (or lemonade if you want it sweeter). Stir and enjoy!

Feeling 22 on the left, a fishbowl concoction on the right featuring Malibu, midori and blue curaçao.
Not quite cake: The sweetness of cake in cute nip!
– ½ shot whipped cream vodka (you can use cake flavour if you have that instead)
– ½ shot hazelnut liqueur

– Whipped cream (optional)

I couldn’t abandon cake completely, this shot and a cupcake make the perfect pairing!
So simple, just pour them in to a shot-glass and top with whipped cream! To give them that birthday feel I dipped the rim of the shot-glass in melted dark chocolate and sprinkles earlier on and let that set.
In all honesty, the best part of being a part time bartender (in the comforts of my own home) is the decorations! We all love a drink that tastes good, but you are really going to make all your insta followers jealous when the pics come out looking damn fine. So get creative – pick brightly coloured drinks, sugar coat dem glasses and pile on the toppings, have fun!
Let us know your creative concoctions, I love trying new flavour combos!
Much love from down under,
Taylor xx
