Best Lime Margaritas

In honor of Cinco De Mayo, here is a tasty and perfect margarita recipe! Easy way to impress your friends and not use any pre-mixed sour mix, less sugar so no headaches, and a little stronger :).
You can use regular lime juice, or Rose’s Lime juice, which is basically sugar water with 60 calories per ounce. So if you want to cut those calories, just use fresh squeezed lime juice for only 8 calories per ounce!

This tastes best with Silver Tequila, and preferably 100% Agave. Some brands that have 100% Agave Silver Tequila are: Familia Camarena, 1800, Sauza Blue Agave, Herradura, and many more

Make on the rocks or frozen, whatever floats your boat!

Ingredients:

For one Drink

  • 1 1/2 oz. Silver Tequila (Preferably 100% Agave)
  • 1 1/2 oz. Triple Sec or Cointreau
  • 1 – 1 1/4 oz. Rose’s Lime Juice
  • Salt for the rim of glass (if desired)

For a Larger Group Size

 Servings: 8

  • 1 1/2 cups (12 oz.) Silver Tequila (Preferably 100% Agave)
  • 1 1/2 cups (12 oz.) Triple Sec
  • 1 – 1 1/4 cups (8-10 oz.) Lime Juice

On the Rocks
Put all ingredients with ice in a cocktail shaker for 20-30 seconds. Salt/Sugar rim of glass if desired (instructions below). Strain margarita from shaker into glass over ice. Add a slice of lime if desired as garnish!

Frozen
Pour all ingredients in a blender, Bullet, etc with 1 1/2 – 2 cups of ice. Salt/Sugar rim of glass if desired (instructions below). Ice crush/blend until smooth. Pour in glass and garnish with a slice of lime if desired!

How to Rim Your Glass with Salt/Sugar
Start with a bowl or plate with some lime or lemon juice, and a bowl/plate of salt or sugar. Dip the rim of your glass in the juice and then dip in the salt/sugar. Twist lightly back and forth. Voilà!
