I’m the master of packing light these days. My key is to pack a lot of transitional pieces that can double for other outfits or beach cover-ups and be worn a few different ways. I also tend to pick bigger flowy pieces that have movement and are great for Instagram photos. Bright colors are best for tropical locations as well as lightweight flowy pieces with open toe shoes.

I packed for 7+ days in a carry on (see my tips and how to on my Instagram highlights) using packing cubes. I bought these and used 4 of them. The largest one for outfits, the smaller two for beach cover-ups and swimsuits and the zipper pouch for toiletries. Make sure to roll your clothes so you can fit a ton more. The packing cubes help keep you organized and are good for compression. The large one even has a zipper on the back which is where I stored my underwear.

Typically when I go to the beach I only bring a pair of flip flops but if you’re a wedge girl then go for it. I found in Curacao and Aruba we were walking in the sand and having dinner with our feet in the water so nice shoes weren’t necessary. My nicer metallic flip flops were perfect.

I didn’t pack heavy but did make room for some statement earrings and jewelry to spice up my outfits. I also packed a ton of sun hats and sunglasses because they’re my favorite.
