I spent my Birthday week this year touring the Ritz Carlton properties in South Florida. The first stop was The Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne. At The Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne, Miami, luxury comes in the form of impressive amenities and the gifts of tranquility and serenity. The resort sits along the coast of the five-mile barrier island, attracting families, couples, golfers, spa-goers, culinary enthusiasts and meeting planners with its secluded but convenient location and an array of offerings.
Great views from your oceanfront room, poolside cabanas, a Ritz kids activity program, direct beachfront access, plus on-site boutiques and restaurants are just a few of the luxury amenities you’ll find during your stay. Hotel + Rooms
First, let’s talk about location. If you’re unfamiliar with South Florida and Key Biscayne it’s important to note that Key Biscayne is its own little secluded island very different from its sister islands to the North like Miami Beach. Key Biscayne is on a barrier island across the Rickenbacker Causeway from Miami. It lies between 2 large parks—Crandon Park and Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park—each with long, sheltered beaches, mangroves and a tropical forest inhabited by birdlife, butterflies and loggerhead turtles. The latter is home to the 19th-century Cape Florida Lighthouse. There is also a golf course on Key Biscayne the hubs was pretty pumped about.
The Ritz-Carlton sits along the coast of Key Biscayne and overlooks the Atlantic Ocean. The only luxury hotel on the bay, it sits just 20 minutes south of Miami Beach and near Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park, Jungle Island, and other attractions. It’s the perfect place to stay on a Miami holiday if you love a luxury vacation! Whether you’re on a romantic couples vacay, a spa staycation with your friends, or traveling as a family, this resort has something to offer every type of traveler.
Most of the rooms feature private balconies overlooking the beach or the resort’s gardens plus 24-hour in-room dining, wifi, a digital safe, a refreshment cabinet, and desks. The hotel rooms and suites feature soft, island-inspired décor, spacious layouts, and balconies with resort, island or ocean views. I loved all the extra countertop space around the room and in the bathroom. I was especially impressed with the outlets on the side tables that made charging my phone and working in bed especially easy.
As you can imagine the plush robes, soft sheets and pillows were divine. I could have lived in that bed it was so comfortable. One thing that was really cool was their updated entertainment. You could actually log in to your streaming accounts and use your own Netflix account etc to watch TV. I thought that was so neat.
When you book your stay I would highly recommend booking a room that includes Club Lounge access. You won’t regret it. The Club Lounge serves complimentary food 5 times a day with access to drinks and snacks all day. It was incredible. Plus they offer personal concierge services as well as workspaces.

Food + Drink
The Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne is definitely not lacking in food options. I was so impressed by the food selections both on-site restaurants and room service. What really impressed me the most was their Club Lounge. Can you say wine fountain? Yeah. I need one of those for my house! The Club Lounge serves complimentary food 5 times a day with access to drinks like water, soda, tea, and coffee plus a few snacks all day.

Cantina Beach – A palapa-style Mexican restaurant set between the pool and the beach (the best place to be!). Choose your favorite Mexican dish, pair it with their selection of over a hundred premium tequilas, and you’re all set for the perfect evening!
Rumbar – This lobby lounge takes you back in time to the Havana in the 1940s with live Latin music, palmetto fans, and a selection of drinks from all over Latin America – pisco, mojitos, rums, and cachacas are all served here!
Lightkeepers – Inspired by the Cape Florida Lighthouse, this oceanfront restaurant serves dishes made with locally-sourced ingredients. On the menu, you’ll find scrumptious seafood, cheese, and beef. We ate here one night and had the freshly caught fish off the menu and a few apps. Everything was delicious. Not to mention, they have an impressive wine and cocktail list. I mean how beautiful is my drink above!
Dune Burgers on The Beach – Set right at the beach and a few steps away from the adults’ pool, this restaurant offers gourmet burgers and a selection of beer. If you’re in the mood for a private dinner, you can book one of the VIP cabanas. Tip: Every Sunday, there’s a live DJ!
Scoop – Poolside ice cream and fresh fruit smoothies. Need we say more?
Key Pantry: Eat. Drink. Shop: This marketplace-inspired café is your go-to place for snacks and refreshments. Think freshly-brewed coffee, cakes, cupcakes, wines, and more!
Pools + Beach
The hotel has two pools: an adults-only one surrounded by the lush gardens of the resort (and a bar, obviously) and a family-friendly one featuring a fun ice-cream parlor and water cascade. Having an adult only pool is a must these days so I really appreciate that the Ritz knows the importance of this! Have kids? The family pool is oceanfront, zero-entry, with an awesome waterfall rock wall and on-site kid activities. The two pools are separated by a gorgeous courtyard with green space and water fountains. There really is something for everyone.
The resort also offers cabanas both at the pool and the beach and a ton of beach-side restaurants overlooking the Atlantic. We had a pool cabana for the day and it is totally worth it. First, the service is amazing and second, it comes with a fresh fruit plate (that I could probably eat every day) and champagne. Plus a fully stocked mini fridge with snacks and magazines.
One thing I love is the Ritz offers fruit infused water and has different SPF sunscreens available for every guest. It’s just a really nice touch because I hate traveling with sunscreen and oil.
The pools and restaurants are beachfront which I love. The property is bordered by a 1,200-foot golden sand beach, the only South Florida location to be named among Dr. Stephen Leatherman’s “America’s Best Beaches” list. You have direct access to the beach just a short walk from your room where you’ll be set up with an umbrella and beach chairs so you can spend the day enjoying the ocean! They also offer lots of fun beach activities like stand up paddle boarding, floats and kayaking.

One thing the Ritz excels at is luxury and amenities. They really make you feel like a queen and have anything and everything you could possibly need on your vacation. The Ritz is definitely the place to vacation for a full-service getaway.
