Celebrating National Dog Day in Atlanta

I have a yellow lab I’ve had for almost 8 years and a new boxer pit mix puppy that my fiancé and I rescued from Angels Among Us Pet Rescue in Atlanta!  We absolutely adore our dogs and love doing life with them!  I can’t wait to celebrate National Dog Day with my #vgbdogs at the #ParkandBark event in Atlanta!

National Dog Day was created to honor the pups we love and raise awareness about the volume of dogs that need homes. Dogs are the best travel companions around.  All I have to say is “ride” and my dogs go nuts!  Whether it’s to the park, the river, or to grandma’s house, my dogs love riding in the car! There’s a special bond between humans, dogs, and cars so I’ve teamed up with Autotrader to celebrate National Dog Day and help raise awareness for their #ParkandBark event!  Check out the event page here and if you’re in Atlanta come join us!

Autotrader’s National Dog Day #ParkandBark event is on August 26th from 5-8 pm at Historic Fourth Ward Park in Atlanta adjacent to North Ave. and N. Angier Ave. (right next to the Masquerade!). The event will have free dog treats (and puppy ice cream), dog accessory giveaways, a dog adoption corner, and will feature a series of “pet experts” to offer CPR demos, wellness advice, and more! Autotrader’s resident expert and longtime automotive editor Brian Moody will be in attendance to offer insights on the latest in dog-approved cars – and we’ll have a couple of vehicles on display for your viewing pleasure.

If your dogs love the car as much as mine do make sure to check out 8 Pet-Friendly Accessories for your Car or Truck!  I have this special dog area in my garage where we keep our “car pack”.  It usually includes tennis balls (duh), a few towels, their leashes, a pop up water bowl, and my ball launcher.  Usually that keeps them happy!
