Eyeliner Do’s and Dont’s

Applying eyeliner is one of the best ways to make your eyes pop, but there are a few mistakes to be aware of! On this post, I share some of my top beauty tips on eyeliner do's and dont's! #Beauty #Makeup

Wearing eyeliner can make your eyes pop much better than any other makeup option out there. The problem with eyeliner is that it’s becoming so fashionable that many are using it the wrong way. Since I love eyeliner and I am sure you do too, I wanted to share some eyeliner do’s and dont’s to ensure that you use this simple makeup tool the right way.

Eyeliner Do’s And Dont’s

Choose the Right Color

Choosing the right colors is essential when doing eye makeup

While you may be prone to grabbing that black eyeliner, there are many color options of eyeliner to choose from. Make sure you choose the right color. Brown eyeliner will help create a softer look. Emerald green eyeliner will help bring out your eye color. White eyeliner is the perfect option to brighten your eyes to make you look more awake and refreshed.

Opt for Gel Liners

Waterproof eyeliners like gel liners will help keep your eyeliner on longer than traditional eyeliner pens. This is a must for anyone venturing outside to work and want to keep their eyeliner looking fresh and beautiful for longer. Remember to bring your eyeliner with you, even gel liner will fade during your busy day.

Don’t Go Bottom Heavy (for the love!!!!)

Putting too much eyeliner on the bottom lid can make your eyes look smaller. I know we all did it in 8th grade but those days are over. Drop that habit now. Especially the sharp liquid liner on the bottom. There is such a thing as too much of a good thing, so do not go heavy on the bottom of your eyes with eyeliner. If you want a little somethin’ somethin’ on the bottom opt for a softer color, a shadow, wet a shadow and use a brush, or just line the outter corner of your eye.

Tip: Highlight the inner corner to make your eyes pop!

When applying eyeliner, don't go heavy on the bottom!

Don’t Line Your Whole Eye

Using eyeliner to line your whole eye will make you look as if you’re a raccoon. While some people can get away with this, they tend to do a thinner line and only line the waterline. Overall, you simply want to avoid lining your entire eye.

These are just some of the eyeliner do’s and dont’s. I hope that my tips will help you feel beautiful each time you look in that mirror.
