44 Things To Do in Saint Lucia

Saint Lucia waterfall st.lucia activities travel blogger Caribbean West Indies

Saint Lucia is home to enchanting little towns, stunning beaches and bays and countless banana plantations, you won’t be at a loss for St. Lucia activities during your stay. Here are some of our top picks:

Castries: The capital city is centered around a harbor, which just happens to occupy the crater of an extinct volcano. The public market is one of the most mesmerizing places in the West Indies. Sample numerous varieties of bananas, pick up handcrafted items such as pottery and baskets or simply soak up the culture. Be sure to check out Derek Walcott Square during your time in Castries; it is an area steeped in history and beauty.

Pigeon Island National Historic Park: This is St. Lucia’s first national park and is joined to the mainland by a causeway. The west coast of the park boasts two incredible white sand beaches that are a must-see. Stop by Jambe de Bois, an eclectic restaurant serving local fare, or simply soak up the natural beauty, wildlife and landscape of this beautiful park. There are also numerous historic ruins, barracks and more that are well-worth exploring.

St. Lucia is as enchanting as it is exotic and luxuriant. A small, tropical gem far less known than its Caribbean counterparts, St. Lucia is host to the world’s only drive-through volcano, its own National Rain Forest with nearly 20,000 acres of natural wonder and the translucent turquoise sea that attracts people from across the globe. St. Lucia is roughly 27 miles long and 14 miles wide, located in the eastern Caribbean Sea and bordering the Atlantic Ocean.
This beautiful Caribbean island is known for the distinctive twin peaks Les Pitons, as well as the stunning Diamond Falls and never-ending lush tropical foliage. Whether you enjoy hiking and navigating breathtaking mountainous terrains and volcanic craters, or if you are looking for a picturesque tropical oasis to put your feet up and soak up the sunshine, you can’t go wrong with a visit to St. Lucia. It’s a bucket list destination for sure!

I was given the best tip when I was in St.Lucia which is to check the cruise ship schedule first. Usually cruise ships dock on Thursdays so try not to book any activities on that day because it will be extremely crowded. I was told sometimes up to 4 cruise ships come in at a time and that’s a ton of people. The crowds will totally change your experience and not in a good way. If you can go on a weekday like Monday or Tuesday, you’ll likely get to enjoy the sights with very little crowds.Saint Lucia waterfall st.lucia activities travel blogger Caribbean West Indies
