Advice from 3 Entrepreneurs (Bossbabes) That Will Change The Way You Run Your Business

While celebrating International Women’s Day I realized we should be doing more to celebrate women every day. Because empowered women empower women. One of my favorite quotes is, “Your circle should want to see you win. Your circle should clap loudly when you have good news. If not, get a new circle.” I think I’ve got a pretty great circle of like-minded ladies and I applaud them! After all, my goal is to be on shark tank one day…as a shark! And they say, if you’re the smartest person in the room, you’re in the wrong room.

So in honor of the amazing women in my life and the impressive women I look up to, I’ll be starting a series on entrepreneurs! I’ll be interviewing 10 incredible boss babes that are crushing it and sharing their inspiring story and successes with you!

So let’s get started! I’d like to introduce the first 3 women, all in different fields, that are actually self-made!

Hi! I’m Alyssa Ramos from My Life’s a Travel Movie, and I’d say I’m a lot of things; a solo female traveler, bucket list junky, full-time travel blogger and influencer, serial entrepreneur and business shark. I started all of this at 26 with hardly any money, no one helping me, and by self-funding all of my trips until I was able to start getting them sponsored. Six years later and I’m now making a six-figure income from it, and have been to 95 countries, all 7 continents, 7 world wonders, and 7 wonders of nature!

Have you ever had anyone doubt you? How did that make you feel?

Pretty sure EVERYONE doubted me when I first started trying to become a travel blogger. In fact, people (mostly guys!) would straight up make fun of me and accuse me of having an older man paying for my trips or trying to be an “Instagram Model”. Naturally, it made me feel a little hurt, but it also led me to become who I am today; someone who loves to vocalize how I did all of this by myself, with my own money, and now is actually making a lot from it!

What do you love most about yourself?

The number of ideas I constantly have, and my desire to go after them. It takes a lot to be an entrepreneur, but it’s also so freeing and empowering. I love that I’m fearless both in going after my business goals and also going out anywhere in the world. I guess in short — I love that I know I can do whatever I want.

What motivates you most?

Getting comments, DMs, emails, posts, etc, from people saying that they traveled because of me or that I inspire them to be a more determined, fearless person.

What do you consider to be your greatest achievement?

Finishing my entire first-ever bucket list that I started 6 years ago and never thought I’d fully complete. I now have it tattooed on my arm: 7 Continents, 7 Wonders of Nature, 7 World Wonders, Big 5 Animals of Africa, Kilimanjaro, Great Barrier Reef, and Easter Island. But if I had to pick one – Antarctica!

What is something on your bucket list?

This year my new bucket list is going to the world’s most exotic, remote islands, and next year it will be all the major cultural festivals!

Crawford McWilliams

I’m an artist and residential designer in beautiful Orange Beach, Alabama.  I love all things art, furniture, color, décor, flowers, and antiques. When I am not working on my latest painting or design project you can find me hanging out with friends, dining out or cooking with my hubby, spoiling my dogs, and spending time on the beach. I love being around my favorite people and I would rather be entertaining house guests than flying solo any day.

What is your favorite thing about where you live?

Orange Beach is so beautiful!  The gorgeous coastal scenery provides inspiration for my creativity every day.  On top of that, who doesn’t love going to the beach or boating in your free time?!

What is something on your bucket list?

I love to travel whenever my husband and I get the chance. My most recent “bucket list” realization is that I really want to see the Northern Lights in person.  My brain can’t even wrap itself around the thought of how beautiful it must be!

What are your biggest passions?

I eat/sleep/breathe/live to make everything around me beautiful!  I have a strong sense of aesthetics and appreciate the beauty in ordinary things.  I am very fortunate to be able to work in a creative field where my biggest passion is the majority of my job!

Do you have any words of wisdom for fellow entrepreneurs?

One of the hardest things for me when I was considering starting my art business was, “What will people think about my work once I put myself out there??”.  After I pulled the trigger and “went live” I realized that my biggest fear was what other people would think about my work.  Having your work or business out on social media and on a website for everyone to critique is the scariest part. Knowing that some people wouldn’t like my artwork was discouraging me from taking the leap.  I realize now that my fear of rejection clouded the reality that a lot of people DO like my artwork.  Once I got positive feedback from my peers, I realized that I was worried about nothing. Don’t let what others think of you stop you from following your dreams!
