1. Go on a Gone With The Wind tour through town
Chances are you loved the movie, so your Atlanta itinerary should be filled with all things Gone With the Wind! First, explore the Margaret Mitchell House (where she wrote the book) and then head over to the Gone With The Wind Museum in Marietta Square. It’s a 30-minute drive from Atlanta, but totally worth it!
2. See vintage jets at the Delta Museum
You don’t need to be an aviation fanatic to appreciate this museum! Just a few minutes away from Atlanta’s airport, the Delta Flight Museum contains historical artifacts like radios, flight attendant uniforms, and more importantly – a 747 jumbo jet! You can enter the jet and explore it yourself! If you don’t want the fun to end, you can also go on a full-motion flight simulator. Make sure you don’t crash, though!
3. Visit Fox Theater
Build over a hundred years ago, this incredible theater is one of Atlanta’s most historic buildings. You can take a one-hour tour through the building, but the fun part is booking a seat to watch a show!
4. Check out Atlanta’s drive-in cinema
If you’ve got a car, head over to Starlight, a super quirky drive-in cinema that will make you feel as though you’ve traveled to the fifties!
5. Go treasure-hunting around the city
Atlanta is home to tons of thrift shops and vintage stores and spending a day exploring them is a must for any vintage lover visiting the city!
Two of our favorites are Psycho Sisters (428 Moreland Ave NE), where you’ll find all things vintage and Junkman’s Daughter (464 Moreland Ave NE), a super eclectic thrift shop where you can easily spend a couple of hours browsing through!
