Walking In Winter Wonderland
Well back to reality we go, holidays are over just like that and we have to go back to “adulting” by showing up and functioning at work! But in honor of #FlashbackFriday, I have to share some of my winter wonderland pictures from Montana.
My family headed to Belt, Montana for 9 days and stayed at the Ranches at Belt Creek. This area is still being developed so we were able to look out and see snow for days. And some mountains! It was a breathtaking view out our back porch and the sunrises were just amazing. Which I’m hardly ever awake for but when you have 4 little ones running around and you’re 2 hours behind, you wake up early and get to take it all in!
After we got settled in, we went to find and cut down our Christmas tree. Yup, like the Griswold’s. Christmas isn’t Christmas without a tree, right? It was a fun adventure and supervised by true “Outfitters”. Thanks Darren and Nick!
Hot cocoa, coffee and marshmallows were a MUST after hiking through the woods and who has ever had half coffee and half hot cocoa?! It wasn’t too shabby.
Christmas dinner at the clubhouse was delicious but I couldn’t get my hands off this awesome meat and cheese platter and this take on a Poinsettia cocktail was even better (it had carnations, cranberries, pears and I can’t even remember what else was in it). Delightfully refreshing with a surprising kick.

We got plenty of R&R in the cabin and had a fire going 24/7! We did venture outside and did some clay shooting, which I learned I’m no Annie Oakley. Thanks Caroline for trying to stay optimistic with me!
After getting a little stir crazy, we heard there was a mermaid bar in Great Falls. Yes, you read that right. There is a tiki bar with mermaids who swim in a pool behind the bar that is at a motel in Montana. We didn’t ask too many question. We persuaded our DD and headed into town.
