List of Events in GA // Pumpkin Patches, Fall Festivals & Haunted Houses
It’s officially fall today and who isn’t a lover of all fall things – cooler weather, pretty leaves, booties, pumpkin spice lattes, fall festivals, hay rides, boiled peanuts, haunted houses… and the list goes on. Here’s a list of events going on in Georgia for the fall season.
Fall Festivals:
- The Autumn Leaf Festival is a good way to kick off the fall extravaganza of events. It’s held annually on the first Friday, Saturday and Sunday in October. It’s in Maysville, GA and it’s just a small town good ole time. This means a parade, local arts & crafts, beauty contest (will Honey Boo Boo be there?), games and contest for kids.
- Kinsey Family Farm is the perfect place to find your best fall and Halloween pumpkins. This farm doesn’t just have pumpkins, it has hay rides, barn animals, a picnic area and a fall harvest shop full of apples, local honey, salsa, jams, breads and cider. This location is in Gainesville and is open from mid September and every day in October.
- Cagle Family Farm has it all – a corn maze, bonfires (to make s’mores), hay rides, pumpkin patches, farm animals and even a Haunted Barn for those who are looking for a scare. It’s located in Canton.

- Oktoberfest is always a good time plus it’s the 45th Annual in Helen, GA! There’s German music, dancing, food, drinks and you can enjoy watching/participating in waltzes, polkas and the chicken dance! Oktoberfest will run from Sept. 10 – 13, 2015, and then reopens daily beginning Sept. 17 and continues through Nov. 1, 2015. This can get rowdy, so get your party lederhosens on.
- Gold Rush Dahlonega is another family friendly event. This is held the third full weekend in October – October 17-18, 2015. Gold Rush was voted in the Top 25 Events in the Southeast by the Southeast Tourism Society. It’s full of games and activities for kids like gold mining and sand art. There’s over 300 art and craft vendors.
And if you like being scared, here are some Haunted Houses:
- Netherworld Haunted House is a haunted house like none other. The costumes and the decorations are unbelievable. You will make your way through different galleries and will be sure to get a few frights. The theme changes annually and this year it’s THE ROTTING and if you want an extra scare get tickets for VAULT 13: UNEARTHED. I recommend doing both. The VAULT 13: UNEARTHED won’t take as long. Opens September 25. Located in Norcross.
- Zombie Farms, from what I hear it is the best zombie farm/walk of all times and you may need to wear a diaper just in case you poop yourself in fright. Located in Athens.
- Fear the Woods looks creepy as hell but if you can shoot the zombies with paintballs, you may feel a little bit safer. Located in Stockbridge.
