22 Photos to Inspire You to Visit Norway!
I headed to Norway in February with Alyssa from My Lifes A Travel Movie on a group trip and it was such an adventure! A few highlights… snowmobiling through 3 different countries, standing in 3 places at once, exploring Tromso and Oslo, seeing the Northern Lights 2 nights in a row, and even feeding reindeer!
Being able to see the Northern Lights was a major item on my bucket list and I’m so happy I got to check it off in Norway! We went out with the Chasing Lights Tour on the big bus and the small bus, one each night, and Bert (@bertinthenorth) doesn’t fail. I’m telling you, not only is he an amazing photographer that taught me to shoot them at night, but they don’t give up! I still can’t believe I took some of the pictures below! Yes they are gray sometimes, but because your camera can see more than the human eye, it will catch the colors. We were lucky enough to see the green and even pink. Not only that but they danced in front of us for almost an hour. It was incredible! I’d recommend doing the more expensive smaller bus hands down.
Next up was snowmobiling. We hopped on snowmobiles in Finland and rode over a frozen lake to the point where Sweden, Finland, and Norway meet. How cool is it to say you were in 3 places at once! I’ll be honest, we did tip over twice and the snow there is deep! Like up to your waist deep but I’ve never laughed so hard in my life. Even though it was slightly scary at first it was so much fun! It was -6 degrees Celsius but we were all bundled up in multiple ski suits, gloves, socks, insulated boots and jackets, and soooo many more clothes. I felt like a huge snowman just waddling everywhere. The handles on the snow mobiles are even heated so your hands stay warm.
I had never met any of these girls in person before this trip and we still keep in touch. It’s just so amazing that your love of travel can bring so many people together. I had a blast and I’d definitely recommend adding Norway to your bucket list! A full travel guide is coming soon!
