Surprise! I’m pregnant! We’re having a baby!

pregnancy announcement

I can’t believe I’m getting to write this post. I couldn’t be more excited and thrilled to announce that our family is expanding, along with my belly. We’re pregnant, or is it I’m pregnant, clearly I’m new at this and clearly I’m the one pregnant (haha). Anywho, we’re having a baby!

So it’s taken me a while to announce on the blog and give y’all an update but I did announce it over on Instagram. As you can imagine, I’ve been super tired. I’ve also been in the middle of flipping a house, traveling and trying to keep up my blog, and investing in a new product. Boy, I take on a lot of things at once. My friend once told me my ADD is fascinating. I thought that was hilarious because it’s a good way to put it. I like to stay busy and I love business and being an entrepreneur so having my hands in a lot of things makes me happy. But, I’m going to try to narrow it down to 2 or 3 things in preparation for the babes!

It’s February 2019 and I’m 5 months pregnant. I can’t believe I’m almost there! In the second trimester time certainly flies! Sometimes it’s hard to believe I’m even pregnant. It just doesn’t seem real. The first trimester was a doozy. Not my favorite. I went around cussing moms that have said things like “pregnancy is amazing, you’ll love it”. Because I didn’t. I hated it. Don’t get me wrong, I’m super thankful and feel so blessed but I still do not have to like it. I felt nauseous, ill, and had extreme fatigue. I mean EXTREME! I was on 12 flights in January and thank goodness it was the end of my first trimester going into my second otherwise I wouldn’t have made it. I already have thyroid issues, which caused me to be super tired but luckily those have magically regulated since being pregnant.

I lost about 20 pounds before getting pregnant and even though the only thing I could eat in my first trimester were carbs, I managed to keep off the weight through the first trimester. I mean I still have reserves so I hope those get used before putting on any additional weight. lol. Another reason the first trimester wasn’t my favorite is that I slipped a disc in my back and was in a ton of pain for those 3 months. I went to the chiropractor 3x a week and it finally started feeling better. I quickly learned to take it easy while your body is adjusting to being pregnant and the inside of your body is moving around. You get me?

I’ve been rocking my high waisted super soft leggings on the reg. They’ve basically been my pregnant uniform but I did pop and have been looking for some maternity clothes! I’ll share some of mine soon because a ton of y’all have been asking on Insta what I’ve been wearing. I will say, it’s hard to find plus size maternity clothes but the good news is a lot of plus size clothes can double as maternity clothes but you do have to be careful because you don’t want to size up and have them big all over when you’re not. If you have any favorite maternity clothes that size past an L please drop the links in the comment section!

On another note, I’ve been buying Mike “dad” clothes because I think they’re hilarious. Jeans jacket, a dad hat, and those stereotypical white tennis shoes. He put it on to model and I about peed my pants laughing so hard. He’s a good sport. Mike and I have also started picking out baby clothes, because yes we do know the gender and we’ll be sharing that with y’all soon! It’s getting more real since picking out baby clothes and it makes me so happy to see how happy and excited my husband is. It’s a really special time for us and I cherish these little moments.
