Fall Trends: 2016 Style Guide

fall fashion trends 2016

Fall is finally in the air (in Atlanta, at least) and that means fall trends. It’s time to bust out oversized sweaters, booties and jeans to go with your pumpkin spice lattes (#basicAF, well actually I prefer a skinny vanilla latte, but you get the point). What are the hot colors for fall? Pantone released their fall fashion colors and they are heavy on the blues as well as the reddish-brown shades.

These are my favorite fall trends for 2016:

Booties

Give me all the booties! I have jumped on the bootie bandwagon and left my tall boots getting dusty. Booties go well with jeans, leggings, and dresses. So pretty much everything! Now don’t get me wrong, there are some great tall boots out there this season too.

Black Distressed Skinny Jeans

This was a splurge on black pants but I’m so glad I made it. These Hudson Jeans Skinny Jeans are so comfortable. It’s almost like you’re wearing leggings. And they look so stylish with WHATEVER you’re wearing. Throw on a sweater with them or a vintage tee.

Distressed Skinny Jeans

I love these Kut jeans, they sold out at Nordstrom but you can hopefully snag a pair on sale at Macy’s while it lasts. Another reason I love these pants are that they are long and anyone with long legs can appreciate it when they actually have to cuff their jeans.

Oversized Sweaters

There are so many great things about oversized sweaters.  The softer the better! You can put on with leggings or jeans. Throw on when you know you’re going to be watching football and maybe having a few beers (you know what I’m talking about). Or dress up with heels.

Plaid

Plaid and fall is like milk and cookies – they go perfectly together! And I really like this one with the buttons on the back, it adds a bit of girlish-ness. I’ll be rocking this top all season long with my Hudson Black Jeans and black booties.

Fur Vest

Honestly, I keep waiting for fur vests to go out of style but they don’t! And I don’t think they are anytime soon. A fur vest can create a new outfit just by throwing it over a top or a dress. It would go perfectly over the fringe dress you see in #1.

Shop The Look

What fall trend are you most excited about – fringe, over the knee boots, sweaters, chokers, bomber jackets, patch purses and jackets!?!
