Escape to the Four Seasons Nevis

Escape to the Four Seasons Nevis
Have you ever heard of Nevis? I did a poll on Instagram stories and the majority of people had never even heard of it before. Which is nice because Nevis is one of the most unspoiled and relaxing islands in the Caribbean. Vividly green with blue skies, clean air, and long empty beaches, Nevis has a pace of life that encourages you to stop and appreciate all the natural beauty around you. It’s a very special place famed for its charm and the easy-going genuineness of its people.

To get to Nevis you need to first fly into St.Kitts and then you’re welcomed by a driver that will escort you to the boat to Nevis. It’s a quick 12-minute ride to the boat where the driver actually gives you a quick mini-tour of the island of St.Kitts. He was super informative and I loved learning about the island on the way. The coolest part was seeing how the island separates the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea. They even stopped to let us take photos.

The driver takes your luggage to the boat and you’re welcomed aboard with cocktails. Well, fruit punch and water for me since I’m pregnant but rum punch for the hubs. He loved it! We grabbed a seat up front to soak in the sun and feel the breeze while watching the boobies dive for fish until everyone was aboard. It’s about a 10-minute boat ride or so across the channel to Nevis, St.Kitts sister island. I love being on the water and boat rides so I really enjoyed the ride. Plus the boat drops you off on the Four Seasons Nevis dock, on the actual property. Talk about door to door service.

Then we were greeted with more welcome drinks and escorted to our room by golf cart with a quick tour of the property. The grounds of the Four Seasons Nevis is gorgeous! From the second you dock and get to take in the entire panoramic view of the property with the Nevis Peak in the background you’re just in awe. It’s a little piece of paradise. The island is beaming with natural beauty, from the green summit of Nevis Peak, down to the sugar-soft sand of Pinney’s Beach.

We went in May and even though we got off the boat with about 12 people it felt like we had the property to ourselves. The Four Seasons always does a great job of making you feel like a VIP. It felt super secluded and private where we rarely ran into other guests. There was never a rush to beach chairs or pool chairs so it allowed us to slow down and enjoy ultimate relaxation. The perfect getaway.

Get Ready To Pack Your Bags For Your Stay At The Four Seasons Nevis

Looking for the perfect place to stay in Nevis? This is the best resort in St. Kitts and Nevis!

Hotel + Rooms

The lobby alone brings a smile to your face because right when you walk in, you get a view of the ocean and the pool.  My favorite thing about the lobby is the open air breeze through. That amazing view straight through to the ocean immediately puts you in vacay mode and ready to relax. Now that you’re on island time, let the vacation begin! I also love the Caribbean-inspired decor, light bright white open airy feel, with natural accents, high ceilings, and large oversized tropical plants.

The resort entrance is lined with stunning towering palm trees, surrounded by a golf course where you can spot donkeys and monkeys scattered throughout. You’ll also find an old sugar mill ruins on the resort.

There are a few different types of room rentals at Four Seasons Nevis. You can rent a guest room, suites, villas, or a private residence rental. All rooms feature a timeless Caribbean-inspired design with private patios or balconies overlooking the ocean, the gardens, or Nevis Peak.

The perfect Caribbean vacation at Nevis!

The luxury villas range from one to seven bedrooms and are uniquely designed. They provide all the comforts of home, including a fully-equipped kitchen, indoor and outdoor living space and a private pool or plunge pool with sundeck. We had a plunge pool with a water feature that backed up to the golf course and overlooked the Nevis Peak. In the morning and the evening, we could hang out there to see all the monkeys, right in our backyard. It was so cool! Our villa came with a golf cart which made it super easy and fun to explore the grounds of the resort.

There are several different types of villas and private residence rentals available. The Palm Grove villas are decorated more traditional versus the villas at Pinney’s Beach which are ultra-modern. The villas come with a ton of amenities but one of my favorites was that you could have your fridge stocked with your favorite foods before you even arrived.

Mike and I loved that and even though you could have a chef come to make you dinner we loved staying at the villa and cooking a few nights that we were there. It was really nice to be able to eat breakfast and lunch in our villa as well just like we would at home. If that’s not your thing, you can even order room service straight to your villa. Even though they’re private residence rentals and villas they still offer all the amenities and perks of a hotel stay. Including turndown service, house cleaning twice a day, and more!

The Rum Bar at The Four Seasons Nevis is the perfect place to unwind!

Food + Drink

There are also tons of restaurant options on the property to make dining out easy and comfortable. We had dinner at Esquilina which was super nice! The gold decor obviously spoke to me. I wanted to move in!

There are waterfront and beachfront dining options but one of my favorite places was the happy hour at the end of the pier. Starting around 5pm, Sundowners is the place to be to grab a drink, watch the sunset, and eat all the ceviche you can eat! It’s a treat!

Another favorite of mine was the bicycle ice cream cart called One Love Two Scoops Gelato Bike! You can’t walk by without getting a scoop of ice cream with rainbow sprinkles! Mmmm. They also have another cart called the Kool Rummings Rum Cart that’s stocked with refreshing rum punch and local beer to enjoy.

Restaurants to check out:

Esquilina – This restaurant offers dishes ranging from Caribean flavors to Mediterranean delicacies.

Crowned Monkey Rum Bar – A bar offering a huge selection of spirits and cigars! Definitely head here for an educational rum tasting!

Mango – A waterfront restaurant offering Caribbean fusion dishes. This is the best spot in the resort to watch the sunset!

Cabana – Set between two pools, it’s the perfect place to grab a quick bite or drink. On the menu are grilled dishes, salads, and burgers.

Kastawey Beach Bar – A relaxed bar set at the beach offer Caribbean cocktails!

Pools + Beach

Besides the pool in our backyard or at your own villa, there are three pools on the resort you can take your pick from:

Ocean pool – set beside the sea, this pool is perfect for kids and families. It features an 83-foot swimming lane and light snacks and beverages.

Garden Pool – This infinity-edge pool just steps away from Pinney’s Beach.

Reflection Pool – This is the adults-only pool offering a relaxing respite with views of the ocean and Nevis Mountain.

Swimming at the turquoise beaches of Nevis

The resort has a private beach that is perfect for relaxing, grabbing a drink, or going for an adventure! Kayaks, windsurfing equipment, snorkeling gear, and paddleboards are all available at no extra charge. If you’d like to go further afield, the resort offers banana-boat rides, chartered snorkeling tours, scuba certifications, and many more activities.

Mike and I tried jumping on the ocean trampoline and it was a huge fail but hilarious and so much fun. So after that Mike spent most of the day just floating in the clear turquoise ocean with his favorite beer in hand.

You can also spend a day at Pinney’s beach in style in one of the 4 gingerbread trimmed beach cabanas that offer a bit of privacy and luxury. The shaded beach cottage includes a mini fridge with two beach chairs and even a hammock for additional relaxation just steps from the ocean!

Amenities

There are too many amenities to mention at Four Seasons Nevis. You’ll have everything you need within arms reach during your stay. If not, the staff is super nice and accommodating and they can handle any requests you have. There’s a fun game room, a full gym, different sports courts, golf, complimentary wifi, tons of water activities, family friendly options, four red-clay tennis courts, four hard courts, two AstroTurf courts, a spa, and so much more!

There’s also a pro shop, gift shop, and boutique on the property. The Four Seasons Nevis has daily activity schedules with clinics, tastings, pop-ups, tours, live music, yoga and pilates classes, beach games, steel pan lessons, and more. There is an endless array of activities from serenity to adventure and everything in between.

Golf

Vacations should create new experiences and memories for years to come. This course does just that and is everything a golfer should want from a vacation round of golf. Winding from jungle to the coast, you’ll feel like you’ve played multiple terrains from the same 18 holes of golf. With unique par 5’s, interesting elevation changes and the occasional monkey or donkey greeting in the fairways, Four Seasons Nevis will give you and your golfing buddies a round to remember.

The resort features an 18-hole golf course with insane views of the nearby St. Kitts island where green velvet monkeys love to roam around.

My husband couldn’t stop talking about his round of golf. I road with him for the first 9 holes just to meet the monkeys!

Spa

The 12,000 sq foot spa is set in a lush hideaway and offers a wide variety of services like massages, facials, and body rituals. During the evenings, you can book an outdoor romantic Nevisian Massage followed by a candle-lit dinner.

I had the best prenatal mommy massage that was much needed. The spa grounds have a Garden of Eden-like vibe. It’s definitely one of the more unique ones I’ve seen with the 11 individual colorful spa treatment rooms both indoor and out, tropical sanctuary lush with greenery, herbs and blooms. There is also a cold plunge pool and a separate hot water pool with warm water cascading off of the volcanic stones. There are tons of places to lounge and take it all in so it’s super relaxing. They also offer oceanside treatments at the beach cabanas.
