The Easiest Way To Book The Best Show In Vegas + How We Ended Up On Stage

Shows are great, especially in Las Vegas! Amiright!? And nowhere in the world will you get the extensive selection of entertainment options as you do in fabulous Las Vegas, Nevada! Don’t know what I’m talking about? Head to TripAdvisor to see just about any show you could ever want to see. From tours around the city by pink limousines to tours over the city by helicopter and even one from the High Roller at the Linq, there’s a great way to see it all. A few of my favorites are all of the Cirque de Soleil shows, that’s right, there are multiple Cirque shows in Vegas! There are even day trips to the Grand Canyon! You can head to see Britney, Celine, or JLo. Another thing I loved the last time I went was the Neon Museum. You can take a museum tour or visit Fremont Street. What I love about TripAdvisor is that you can build a list on your profile for each of your travel destinations to keep the top things to do in each city organized. With all that being said, the show that I go back to every year… every time.. is The Anthony Cools Experience at The Paris Las Vegas! So I hopped on TripAdvisor, the easiest way to book a show, got 4 tickets and basically ran to The Paris with my friends in tow! I was so excited!
But little did I know this year was going to be a little different. This year, my husband (read: Instagram husband lol) Michael, decided to volunteer to get on stage with my blogging bestie Lacey Leanos! So, I’ll tell you how funny it was for me after you hear his side of the story.
About the Show
The Anthony Cools Experience is a mesmerizing performance that blends comedy and magic. I highly recommend visiting Anthony Cools at the Paris Hotel and Casino, and experience Las Vegas’ most mesmerizing show. Slip under Cools’ spell, try to resist or simply enjoy his risqué humor as you watch the 90-minute show. The comedian and hypnotist coaxes audience members to release their inhibitions on stage, and you might be surprised what your friends — or you — are capable of. This one-of-a-kind night out in Vegas will have you mesmerized. It’s great for a night out with a date or with a group of friends. Whatever brings you here, you’re sure to remember it — unless Cools instructs you to forget!
From the Hypnotized Husband…
I was apprehensive about hypnosis at first but Anthony Cools chilled me out (see what I did there) during our VIP meet and greet before the show so I made up my mind I had to volunteer. I had to see what being “under” was all about. About five minutes into the show I had volunteered and was up on stage not having any clue what would happen. My only thought “Vegas baby”. The minute you step on that stage you feel a wave of comfort come over you. It felt as if no one was in the room as the lighting basically blacked out the crowd. I was already feeling easy about being on stage when Anthony started the breathing exercises with us, each breath bringing me more and more relaxed. Once the breathing exercises ended, Anthony snapped in my ear and whispered something about me being completely relaxed. At this point I was under, and I knew I was down for whatever.
When you go under you don’t lose motor skills or anything like that, you just take on an attitude where you are so calm that you follow his persuasive suggestions. I was ready for show business. Only question left was how far under was I and just what would Anthony have me do? Sparing the deets, this show was PG13 about 4 to 5 minutes then turned a strong R or NC17 rating, the raunchiness level basically depended on the crowd. I was doing stuff that I would never be caught dead doing in public, but being under just let me be free to do whatever without care. I remember making my own decisions, but I had zero shame. It was SO REFRESHING and probably will be very embarrassing once I check tape. That’s right…it’s recorded…the entire thing!
The best part was that Anthony ended the show commanding me to have a wonderful night and that I wouldn’t wake up with any signs of a hangover. I woke up before sunrise the next morning feeling like a million bucks. Hypno was a fun experience and I’m glad I have that on stage memory, I highly recommend not only going, but volunteering in The Anthony Cools Experience.
I remember questioning Anthony after the show. I told him I didn’t think I went under but I wanted to keep the show going so I just went with it. He told me that was exactly how I was supposed to feel. So I’m left asking myself “I was in control on that stage in Vegas that night at the Paris…. but was I? Was I?????”
Now I can’t give away all of the show nor do I want to embarrass myself by telling you what happened on stage. However, I will tell you I’ve never laughed so hard in my entire life. I laughed the night away at the Cools Experience and having my husband on stage made it so much more fun. His show is so entertaining and intriguing. The small theater makes the show so intimate. I had a few people come up to me after the show and say something along the lines of, “So how hard were auditions? How long have you known Anthony? Do you do every show?” I couldn’t believe how many doubts people had. I basically said that if you don’t believe it, volunteer or have someone in your group volunteer. It will seriously make your night! Anthony has a new audience for every show, which is almost every night. Meaning, he has new volunteers to hypnotize every night. Basically a new show each time and it’s always a little different. To answer your question, it’s not staged, not fake, and we were not paid. He’s the real deal. What it is though…is freaking hilarious. I was basically crying from laughter.
