WHY YOU SHOULD FROM AUTO EUROPE

Benefits of having a car traveling through Europe and why we recommend renting a car to explore Ireland

WHY YOU SHOULD FROM AUTO EUROPE

Exploring and discovering a new place is hard to do without a reliable transportation plan. When the VGB Squad headed to Ireland, we knew that in order to go where we wanted to go, we would need a rental car. Auto Europe made our car rental easy and as their motto states, “a smooth rental experience.”

Our latest adventure started us in Dublin, Ireland. We were able to pick up the car from the airport and be on our way in a very quick manner. The staff was friendly and helpful which made the transition from plane to car very simple. The hardest part of the entire experience was adapting to drive on the left side of the road. All 5 of us packed the car to the brim and loaded in ready to explore all Ireland had to offer! We knew to pack light because mid size SUVs and the roads are smaller in Ireland.

The great thing about their website is that Auto Europe has planned out popular road trip links for many destinations if you need a few pointers. They also have International Road Signs, European Travel Guides, and Driving Information that you can read so you know what you are doing while driving in a foreign country. They have everything you need to plan for your road trip in one spot! Auto Europe has been trusted for over 60 years by millions of travelers and we highly recommend if you are going to Europe, to rent a car and start exploring the back roads.

We had so much fun driving the coastline to see the water and through the mountains past the cow and sheep farms. It was quite the adventure. It’s really like it is in the movies. If you’ve seen PS. I Love You or Leap Year, you know exactly what I’m talking about. We even stopped to take a picture of this HUGE cow and our lovely photographer Jennifer Oetting made the mistake of leaning into the electric fence on accident. Don’t worry, she’s okay. #doitforthegram She got quite the shock and later decided to get a fun lightening line tattoo on that spot when we were in Galway. We had such a blast and made so many fun memories that wouldn’t have been possible without a car. It’s also pretty inexpensive when you’re traveling with a big group. Instead of everyone having to buy a train ticket or paying for huge van taxi’s the car was the most cost effective option.  I also like to be in control of where we’re going and when we’re leaving, so having a car is really the only option for me.

I’m so glad we got to explore the southern coast of Ireland including places such as Cobh, Limerick, Killarney, Galway, Cork, and of course Dublin. We wouldn’t have been able to taken this incredible adventure without a rental car. It was so nice to be able to go at our own pace and not rely on trains or other modes of transportation. Being able to pull off the side of the road to take epic pictures of the country side and being able to listen to our own Ireland playlist and sing at the top of our lungs made the adventure so much more fun!

Pro Travel Tip: SUV’s are about the size of an American sedan so if you have more than 2 people or a lot of luggage, definitely book the largest SUV they offer. But keep in mind the roads are also smaller so in most cases bigger is not always better. If you’re sticking to the highways you’ll be fine but if you plan on exploring off the beaten path or driving to the Cliffs of Moher, you may want to be cautious. I sat on the left and told Ady every time she got close to the side of the road.
