Top 7 Picture Perfect Places for your Photoshoot in Paris!

picture perfect photoshoot Paris, France photography. travel blogger photoshoot

Paris is amazing! Mike and I had a blast shooting all over France! Of course I did a ton of research before hand since I went with my photographer, Jennifer Oetting Photography.  I wanted to be ready for the day because if you know me you know I love my sweats and athletic leisure wear. lol  Since we were getting dressed up for pics, I had to make them count. My goal was to take every photo I wanted in half a day.  Any photo of you in Paris is a good photo but I definitely have my favorite spots!

These are my top 7 places to go to get a perfect Parisian picture!

1. Jardins du Trocadero

Make sure to get there early to beat the crowds. Or, you can do what I did and sleep in and have to play your angles to cut out the tourists.  When I mean plan your angles… I mean your photographer or instagram husband will have to do shit like this. When I turn back and see Jen on the ground or laying down it always makes me giggle, which makes for a fun shoot. You can also use an app like retouch or photoshop to remove people but the easiest option is to get there early. Luckily, most of the tourist were super nice and when they saw my photographer taking pics they politely moved out of our shots long enough to get a few good ones!  I will admit the people watching is pretty hilarious here. People trying to eat the Eiffle Tower and crowds with their selfie sticks. I can’t say I’ve never been one of those people but we definitely got a few laughs.

2. Trocadero Steps

The walk on the steps symbolizes the start of your journey trough life together. I love this shot. It’s one of my favorites.

3. Pont des Arts / The Love Lock Bridge

Although the locks are gone, the meaning is not. Definitely go check it out. Walk a block over to another bridge to check out the many love locks that have migrated! PS. They now sell sharpies so you can write your love on the bridge.

I got my love lock in the shape of a heart and engraved from The Highland Angel Shop on Etsy.  You can find it here.

Tip: Get 2. Leave one in Paris and keep the other one as a memory!

4. Palais-Royal

Something about black and white stripes I will always love!  The screened entrance court faces the Place du Palais-Royal, opposite the Louvre. When. you enter the large inner courtyard you’ll find Les Deux Plateaux, more commonly known as the Colonnes de Buren, a highly controversial art installation created by the French artist Daniel Buren in 1985–1986.

As described by the architectural writer Andrew Ayers, “Buren’s work takes the form of a conceptual grid imposed on the courtyard, whose intersections are marked by candy-striped black-and-white columns of different heights poking up from the courtyard’s floor like sticks of seaside rock. … In one sense the installation can be read as an exploration of the perception and intellectual projection of space.”[1]

If you are lucky enough to have lived in Paris as a young man, then wherever you go for the rest of your life, it stays with you, for Paris is a moveable feast. ―Ernest Hemingway, in A Moveable Feast

7. Pont Bir-Hakeim

If you get lost it’s the bridge on the same road as Hotel Eiffel Seine. One of my favorite photos from this location is here.

Other top contenders:

-Eiffel Tower Carousel

-Directly under the Eiffel Tower

-At the top of the Eiffel Tower

-The terrace at your hotel

We stayed at the Shangri-La in Paris and the view was incredible!
