Our very special intimate engagement shoot

As many of you know I got engaged last year and am so extremely happy to have found my forever! I’m not having a big fancy wedding nor did I want to have an elaborate engagement photo session, but when The Knot reached out to partner I had to say yes! Along with The Knot opportunity to be able to share and write about my wedding journey, D. Geller & Son offered to have me in to play dress up and shoot our engagement photo session in all their amazing diamonds! Even though I don’t want a fancy wedding, I’m certainly not one to pass up diamonds! #GOALS

For our engagement photo session, my fiancé and I decided to go with an intimate shoot at home. It involved tons of diamonds from D.Geller & Son, roses, champagne, and our puppies! Then we took a stroll around the nearby Marietta Square, somewhere that means something special to both of us. It was very romantic! I could’t have asked for a better day. To top it all off, Mike and I stopped to eat ice cream. If you know me, you know I love ice cream.

Throughout the engagement photo session, I realized that it doesn’t have to take months of planning and preparation to capture your wedding journey. A few simple props and the one you love can create a special moment that you will remember for a lifetime. I am still undecided about my wedding plans/elopement, but I do know that it’s the moment and the memories that matter. I also know that I don’t have to succumb to the pressures of doing what most every other bride does. I can be creative and go with the motto “simple is better and less is more.” With everything other than diamonds of course!
