Vacation, is the thing I dream about every day when I wake up to go to work in the morning. You are one of two types of people, you like planning a vacation or you just like to go on a vacation and not worry about the planning. Let us just stop and help you out right now by saving time on finding a place to stay. Just check out Harris Properties Management in Gulf Shores, Alabama. They have beach house rentals directly on the beach. I mean, you don’t even have to pack a cooler because you are about 50 feet from a refrigerator to the shoreline! A couple of the #VGBsquad members were given the opportunity this past weekend to stay at a Harris Property on West Beach in Gulf Shores and we loved our beach house!

We were looking for a dog-friendly beach house and were lucky to find Harris Properties! They even have an entire dog-friendly section! We stayed at Somewhere in Time 1 and we were thrilled with its location. The view was absolutely breathtaking. Every morning I stepped outside and watched the sunrise, and every evening watched the sunset from a quaint balcony listening to the ocean waves roll in. It couldn’t be a more serene setting to enjoy a relaxing, carefree moment in time.

The best part for me was the fact that we weren’t surrounded by condos and hotels so it felt like we were on a private beach. Restaurants, tourist staples, and grocery stores are all nearby and easily accessible. It is a home away from home…or I should say the home I wish I had away from home!  Who doesn’t want their own beach house?!

Somewhere in Time 1 was perfect for us! There were 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms along with an extra room with bunk beds so we could sleep 12!  Everything was decorated and made us feel right at the beach!  The bedrooms were a good size and each one upstairs had their own bathroom with spacious countertops.  I loved the open floor plan and high ceilings in the living room and kitchen eating area.  The kitchen was perfect and had everything we needed to cook.  I also loved that there was a  laundry room so that I could wash all my sandy and salty clothes before returning home.  Bonus, there is free wi-fi, cable TV, and air conditioning.

Check-in and check-out is the easiest.  There is a lock box outside and you simply type in your code to access the keys.  No front desk, no office you have to go to first and then to your house.  It was SO easy.  But remember with any home rental, as opposed to a hotel, there is no housekeeping, and you’ll need to provide your own toilet paper paper towels, etc.  Although towels are provided and enough toilet paper and paper towels to get you through the first day.  I love the home aspect of a rental property as opposed to a hotel.  Especially when you’re staying longer than a day or two.  You end up saving so much money by making your own food and you aren’t forced to eat out every day.  Although, you’ll want to here.

To top everything off the management staff was super accommodating and friendly. Remember they have soooo many properties to choose from so you can find one that is perfect for you! We look forward to staying at one of their properties again in the very near future. I strongly recommend that the next time you are thinking about heading to the beach, don’t look for a random place to stay or just some hotel, go directly to Harris Properties Management.
