Acting like a local on St. Patrick’s Day! A message from Ireland

Since today is March 17th or as it’s more commonly known, Paddy’s Day, it’s probably a good time to share a few tips on how to celebrate like a local. 

Over the next couple of days there will be over 112,000 visitors from all over the world in Ireland for St Patrick’s Day, so as you can imagine there will be plenty of celebrations and the Craic will be had! For those of you not familiar with the term ‘Craic’, here is your first lesson, ‘Craic’ is a Gaelic word, with no exact English translation, the closest word is probably ‘fun’, but in reality craic means so much more. For me Paddy’s Day is all about having a good time with family and friends and getting to celebrate so many different aspects of our Irish culture!

I could keep going with a list of do’s and don’ts for the big day but that could get very boring, it would take me way too long and I also think you might enjoy this video a little more!

Whoever you are and wherever you might find yourself, on Paddys Day everybody is a little bit Irish so put down that leprechaun, ditch the green beer and celebrate like a local this St. Patrick’s Day! I’ll be out and about in Dublin and I’m sure I’ll be enjoying a beverage or two! Slainte!
