Pizza, pizza, pizza!

PIZZA, PIZZA, PIZZA…we all scream pizza (or is it ice cream?). Anyway, I’ve become a big fan of Stonefire Authentic Flatbreads. I discovered the product after getting on a flatbread binge. Making your own flatbread is such a fun date night or dinner party idea! Of course when I found out they had pizza crusts, mini NAANs and crackers, I had to try them out and I wasn’t disappointed.

One evening, I put on my fancy Domestic Gold apron (thanks to The Campbell Design Co) and got prepared for a pizza cook off. Now I am no chef but I can at least try to look like one.

Is this not the cutest apron you’ve ever seen?!  Briana from The Campbell Design Co is amazing and super talented!  She custom made our aprons to say #DomesticGold in a few different patterns and we absolutely love them!!!  So girly with a cute vintage feel.

But back to cooking!  I decided to check out the recipes on the Stonefire website and one peaked my interest – Pepperoni, Pepper and Provolone Pizza. Sounds like a winner to me! Game on!

Pizza 1:

  • 1 Stonefire Italian Artisan Pizza Crust with sauce
  • 2 TBSP Basil Pesto – store bought or homemade
  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella
  • 20 to 24 slices of dry cured pepperoni
  • 6-8 Slices of provolone cheese
  • ¼ cup roasted red peppers, diced
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh basil (put on after pizza is cooked or last few minutes to cook into pizza)

The crust was excellent and crisped nicely in the oven and it came with its own sauce, which was actually pretty good! Drizzling the pesto over the sauce was the key part of this pizza; it provided the perfect amount of pesto and a different taste to the pizza. Then add the provolone and other toppings.

Pizza 2:
  • 1 Stonefire Italian Artisan Pizza Crust
  • 1 lb Ground Beef
  • ¼ banana peppers, diced
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (or more if you like cheese)
  • ½ cup feta cheese
  • Olive Oil
  • Garlic
  • Butter
This was a white pizza, so no pizza sauce required. Spread some butter on the pizza crust and combine garlic and olive oil in a saucepan and sweat the garlic with the olive oil to create the base. Then add your toppings.

  1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
  2. Drink Wine.
  3. Place pizza directly on a rack or on a pizza pan.
  4. Drink wine while waiting for pizza to cook.
  5. Cook for about 8-10 minutes or until toppings are heated and cheese is melted.
  6. Enjoy!
Finito! Perfectto! And if you’re curious, both pizzas were delicious but #1 took the prize (of bragging rights)!

On a side note, I went on a road trip to Florida and brought along Stonefire crackers. Sure enough we found the perfect seafood dip to eat the crackers with. The Original was my favorite but they also come in Everything, Garlic Parmesan and Tandorri Spice. So basically, everything they make is good!
