Exploring Atlanta // Field of Sunflowers
Who doesn’t love a good sunflower field photo! Funny story, last year my bestie Lindsay and I went to the Sunflower field to take some pics and walk around. I had been counting down the days when we could go and was oh so excited. We picked out cute flowey outfits, packed some snacks, talked about what poses we would do and so on. The drive is about 40 minutes away from my house and the anticipation was killinnngggg me! When we finally pulled up to our surprise, this is what we saw…. gasp! A field of dead sunflowers! Insert shocked emoji and real life saddest face ever. The biggest fail – EVER!
So this year when we went I knew it was going to be perfect. Because I wanted a sunflower field photo and a live one at that! We grabbed the rest of the VGB team, checked the website and made sure these beauties would be alive and since it was scorching heat outside we packed a cooler of the yummiest Pop Stars popsicles ever to stay cool. Oh yeah, I should mention they are a local Atlanta pop brand called Pop Stars! #shoplocal!
One thing to note is that bees love sunflowers! As you know sunflowers are HUGE! As tall if not taller than we were so that means that these lovely bees are in. your. face. Not that calming but luckily they are only after the flowers.
We grabbed a pic, dominated those pops, and bought some home grown sunflowers for the best price ever! Such a fun little summer outting!
